Hello fellow Looters! Today we got the July Loot Crate box in the mail, which is titled ‘Animation’ and we were excited to see what was inside! We knew there was supposed to be some Bob’s Burgers stuff in there. So we got the ol’ trusty box opener and took a peep inside. Here is what we found:
The box was Bob’s Burgers oriented, which made me very happy! You can see what all was inside except the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shirt which I forgot to include in the picture. The Rick toy was very nice, I do like this month’s pin as well. The Futurama cozies seemed mostly like filler honestly. And the Bob’s Burger item is recipe cards which I already had in the hard cover book I got from Amazon a while back.
Overall, I wouldn’t say it’s a bad box, but to us it was a bit of a disappointment. If we didn’t already have the Bob’s Burger recipe book then I guess I would have liked it better. The chalk board on the box allows you to put one of the cards in and hang it up as well as the cards having nice art on the back so it’s not too bad.
If you get your own Loot Crate make sure to use this link:
Here are some more pictures of what was inside:
Today we got another batch of figures in for Lego Dimensions! We got Aquaman and the Jurrasic World team set! We dove in as soon as we got home from work and got all the new items built and immediately jumped into the Jurrasic World Adventure World. We played around in there and got several gold bricks, picked up the red brick and did some exploring. It’s a beautiful world and I love the Raptor! As it stands we have still only 100% on one level, the Wizard of Oz Level on the main story. I wanted to try to get 100% on another level tonight but Vanessa was sleepy so we decided to just stick to adventure worlds and getting gold bricks for the evening.
Also, we did get a display case for the character figures today to help organize the growing collection and I have to admit it does look quite awesome displayed!
Today we did make a couple of awesome advances. First and foremost we DID achieve the 1,000,000 studs and get the 2x stud multiplier! I was very excited about that. After that we did get some more additions to the collection in the mail today. We got Bart Simpson fun pack, Doc from Back to the Future fun pack and Emmet from Lego World. I also did contact Lego and they are sending me a replacement base for the Back to the Future level pack that was torn up. It was very hassle-free to get it replaced which made me very happy! I am impatient so I hate having to wait for it but it’s worth it. We did get Bart and his car built in today’s playing. Then we jumped right into the Simpson’s Adventure World (since we don’t have the level pack yet). We did some of the construction, got the red brick and got some gold bricks. We also did build Emmet’s Excavator as well! The collection has grown nicely!
After we done that for a while (and it getting close to bedtime because of work for us both) we decided to go ahead and build Doc’s Traveling Time Train as well. We went into the Back to the Future Adventure World and played around a bit and got the red brick and a gold brick or two. Fun times!
Going into this blog I want to make it clear that I have not read the books this was apparently based on so I’m going into the show with a fresh view on the subject. The show was brought to my attention and I decided to check it out. The first episode could be watched early online, so I did just that. It releases on TV on December 15th. So what did I think of the show…
Based on the first episode, it seems like it’s going to be pretty good. I LOVE space, I love worlds that are set in space. I went into the series with very high expectations. I won’t say that all those were met, by any means, but I wasn’t disappointed either. From my understanding thus far it’s based in a world where Earth, Luna (the moon I think), Mars and then the asteroid belt has been settled. The ‘belters‘ work on the asteroid belt and supply things to Earth and Mars I think. They don’t think that’s fair however, and apparently there is a revolt in the making.
Then, we move on with another story line of the crew of a ship that was apparently gathering ice to talk back to the asteroid belt. They get a distress signal, initially decide to ignore it and then end up going to investigate. Clearly, it was a set up because a Mars Vessel (or so we are led to believe) sends a nuke and blows up the ship. A few survivors are in the small shuttle that went to investigate so they are spared the explosion. We had a moment of the girlfriend in the story saying ‘you should know’ and the boyfriend never got to find out what that was. I’m assuming that will be a lingering story line for the show. Based on the way they were introduced she was probably pregnant. But in any case, it was a nice introduction to the show. It had plenty enough potential to make me want to check out more episodes. The acting was good, the characters were interesting, the world was interesting and the graphics were nice. So yea, check it out!
So a couple of days ago I finished watching all the episodes of Silicon Valley that are currently out, both seasons. HBO did renew Silicon Valley for a 3rd season and I am very excited about that! In my opinion Silicon Valley is…well, first, let’s start with my rundown and thoughts from the beginning.
So I actually tried to watch this show a long while back and I simply didn’t get into it. But, I did finally download them from HBO GO on demand and decided to binge watch them. And I am glad I did. The show is focused around a group of ‘friends’ that work in the tech industry. Then one of them has an idea that everyone suddenly wants. From there it’s the trials and tribulations associated with taking a company from nothing to something and the steps in between. I have to admit this appealed to me a lot. The story is well written, the characters are very likable and quite honestly, it’s hilarious. There are so many small things that are funny that just make the show work it’s fun to watch just for those.
Another of the most impressive things about this series, while it is a comedy, it’s very intelligent and the character development works exactly how it’s supposed to. You hate who you’re supposed to hate and you’re rooting for who you’re supposed to root for, even when that person isn’t your typical main character. So to continue my thought from the beginning of the blog…
In my opinion Silicon Valley is well worth watching and probably one of the better shows on TV currently. I would highly recommend watching it.

New Episode of The Walking Dead SundayI’m off work tomorrow
My Blog is up to 536 original viewers while only being live 4 days!
After what seems like forever waiting, The Walking Dead finally returned to AMC’s lineup tonight! Clearly I (and millions of others) were very excited about this return. At least this year we did have Fear The Walking Dead to sort of help bridge the gap for us (more on this in later posts). So how was it? Was it a good first episode? Read on to find out my thoughts!
First I will start with one of the main things I noticed people were whining about on Twitter tonight, the fact that a lot of the episode was in black and white. Well, I will be honest here, I think they should do ALL episodes in black and white. The reason I say this is because IT WORKED. It looked beautiful, it fit the style perfectly and it made sense. Black and white works in the comics and I think it works on the show as well, bottom line. Now let’s get into it, you may be asking yourself, did he like it or not? Yes, yes I did. You could tell in the first 5 minutes they were flexing their muscle, they were showing you the beautiful work the makeup artists are doing this year, they are showing you they aren’t afraid to put hundreds of zombies on the screen at one time while not sacrificing story. I think by the time we were 15 minutes in we were already spoiled by the fact of the show being so beautiful.
To me, in this episode, Morgan really stepped forward as one of the people I want to watch. Now, I am bias because I LOVED his character in Jericho (one of my favorite TV Shows of all time). The episode was really focused on a task at hand (and in flashback mode the events that lead up to that task). And while it did do some time jumping it was very easy to follow and very entertaining. I loved the side story line with Glenn and his crew as well, it almost feels as though he has his own zombie killing group going on, which I am all for that idea. Rick stays his typical self so no surprises there, another great performance. I did like the dynamic between Rick and Daryl in this episode, which Daryl sort of disagreeing with what Rick wants to do.
In conclusion I say this, it looks like another great start to a great season! I personally can’t wait to see what Rick and crew have in store for them this time!
